Can You Download Nursery Photos on an Android Phone?

Not on the phone itself. NurseryDownloader is a Chrome extension, and Chrome on Android doesn't run extensions. The quickest way to save every photo is to use any laptop or desktop for a few minutes. If you don't have one to hand right now, email yourself the link so it's waiting for you when you do.

On an iPhone or iPad? It's the same answer: no browser on iOS runs Chrome extensions, so use a computer, or get a reminder.

Why not on Android?

Chrome for Android doesn't support extensions. For a few years a free browser called Kiwi Browser could install them, but Kiwi was discontinued and removed from the Google Play Store in January 2025. It no longer gets updates or security fixes, so we don't recommend it for anything you sign in to, and we haven't tested NurseryDownloader in it.

The quickest way: a computer for five minutes

1. On any Windows, Mac or Chromebook laptop or desktop, open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge.
2. Install NurseryDownloader from the Chrome Web Store. The first 20 downloads are free.
3. Sign in to your nursery app as normal and open the page where your child's photos appear.
4. Use the NurseryDownloader panel on the page to download every photo and video. They save to the computer's Downloads folder, sorted by date, at full quality.

Once they're on the computer you can copy them to Google Photos, a USB stick or your phone.

If you only have your phone today

• Email yourself the link. Pop your email address in here and we'll send you the link, so it's waiting the next time you're at a computer.
• Save your favourites in the app. Most nursery apps let you save photos one at a time. It's slow for a whole year, but fine for a few you don't want to wait for.

Tips

• Do it before your child leaves. What you can still reach afterwards is up to the nursery and the app, so it's safest to save everything while you have full access.
