How to Download Your Famly Photos to a Computer

Saving Famly photos to your phone often grabs a smaller copy. Here's how to get the full-size originals onto a laptop or desktop.

Most of us live in the Famly app on our phones, so that's where people first try to save photos too. It works — but tapping save on a phone often gives you a smaller, compressed copy, not the full-size original. If these are keepers, a computer is the better home: the files arrive at full quality and they're far easier to sort and back up.

Why a computer is the right home for these

  • Full-size originals. The desktop route pulls the same quality the nursery holds, not a shrunk version.
  • Real folders. Organising a year of photos is miserable on a phone and easy on a laptop.
  • Proper backups. From a computer you can copy the lot to a cloud drive and an external disk in minutes.

Get them all onto your laptop or desktop

NurseryDownloader is a Chrome extension built for exactly this.

  1. On your computer, open Chrome or Edge and add NurseryDownloader from the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Sign in to Famly at app.famly.co and open your child's feed.
  3. Click Download all photos and videos. Everything downloads to your computer at full quality, into a folder per child and month-by-month sub-folders, ready to back up.

Windows or Mac — both fine

It runs in Chrome or Edge on either, so a Windows PC, a MacBook or an iMac all work the same way. It's a desktop browser extension, so it doesn't run on phones or tablets — which is rather the point: the computer is where the full-size files belong.

Everything happens locally in your browser — nothing is uploaded to us. Your first 20 downloads are free.
