How to Download All Your My Bright Day Photos & Videos

If your child's daycare uses Bright Horizons in the USA, their photos and videos live in the My Bright Day app. The good news: you don't need any extra tool to save them. My Bright Day has a built-in Photo Archive that downloads all of your child's media for you. The one catch is that it works one time period at a time, so to save a full history you go year by year. Here's exactly how.

Download all your My Bright Day photos and videos

Step 1: Open the menu and go to My Account

Open the My Bright Day app on your phone or tablet. On the home screen, tap the menu button in the top left.

From the menu, open My Account. Under Downloads & Media, tap Photo Archive.

Step 2: Choose the media type

On the Photo Manager screen, set Media Type to All Media so you get photos and videos.

Step 3: Select a whole year, one at a time

Tap Period. The options include Last 30 Days, Last 3 Months, Last 6 Months, and a list of individual years. To capture everything, pick a single year rather than a rolling window. Because you can only choose one period per link, repeat this for each year your child has attended.

Step 4: Generate the link and download

Tap Generate Link. The app tells you how many photos are ready and gives you Download Link and Share Link buttons. Tap Download Link to save the files straight to your device, or Share Link to send them to yourself by email or message.

Step 5: Find your links again in Recent Downloads

Every link you generate is also saved under Recent Downloads (in My Account), so you can come back and tap View Link for each year. Two things worth knowing: the links expire after about a week, so download them promptly, and group photos are not included (that's My Bright Day's own privacy rule).

Why go year by year?

My Bright Day builds one download link per period you select, and the longest preset is six months. Choosing each year in turn is the reliable way to be sure nothing is missed, especially across multiple years of daycare. It takes a few minutes, but it saves the whole archive at full quality, straight from the app.

Does it include videos?
Yes. Set Media Type to All Media and both photos and videos are included.

Why can't I download the group photos?
My Bright Day excludes group photos from downloads for privacy. Only media of your own child is available.

How long do the download links last?
Each generated link can be viewed for about one week. Download the files before then, or simply generate a fresh link.

Can I do this on a computer?
My Bright Day is a mobile app, so the Photo Archive is done in the app on your phone or tablet. The files download to your device, and you can move them to a computer afterwards.
