How to Download All Your Famly Photos & Videos
Save every photo and video from Famly in one click, at full quality, before your account is downgraded when your child leaves.
If your daycare uses Famly, it has quietly built up hundreds of photos and videos of your child. The catch: Famly only lets you save them one at a time, and once your child moves on, your account is downgraded and those photos get much harder to reach.
NurseryDownloader is a Chrome extension that saves them all, every photo and video, at full quality, in one click. Here's how.
Download every Famly photo in one click
Step 1: Install the extension
- Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a laptop or desktop (the extension doesn't run on phones or tablets).
- Add NurseryDownloader from the Chrome Web Store.
- Click Add to Chrome, then Add extension.
Step 2: Sign in to Famly
- Go to app.famly.co and sign in with your parent account (this also covers famly.de and the Bright Horizons FamilyApp).
- Open the page where your child's photos and videos appear.
Step 3: Click download
- The NurseryDownloader panel appears on the page.
- On your newsfeed, click Download All Feed Photos to save every photo and video from the feed. On your child's profile, click Download Tagged Images to save the photos your child is tagged in, plus the photos in their learning journey.
- Everything saves at full quality in month-by-month folders with date-first filenames: feed downloads go in a Feed folder, profile downloads in a folder for that child.
What you get
- Photos and videos, saved at full quality, the original files, not lossy screenshots.
- Organised by date, a folder for each child, then month-by-month sub-folders. Prefer one big folder? There's a toggle for that.
- All your children, every child on the account saves into their own folder in a single run.
- Captions kept, feed downloads also save a spreadsheet with the date and caption for every post.
- Your photos stay private: they go straight from the app to your computer, never through our servers, and it never asks for your password because it works in the browser where you're already signed in.
Your first 20 downloads are free, so you can check the quality before you buy a licence.
Famly's built-in download vs downloading everything at once
Famly's own help centre is upfront about it: photos can only be downloaded one at a time, your daycare has to have the download option switched on, and there's no bulk export. For an account with a few years of history, that's thousands of clicks.
Your realistic options:
| Method | Good for | The catch |
|---|---|---|
| Famly's built-in download | Saving the odd single photo | One at a time, only if your daycare enables it |
| Open-source scripts (e.g. famly-fetch on GitHub) | Developers comfortable with the command line | Needs technical setup, no support, breaks when Famly changes |
| NurseryDownloader | Getting everything in one click, sorted and captioned | The first 20 downloads are free, then it's a paid licence |
We built NurseryDownloader for the middle of that table: parents who want everything saved properly without becoming programmers to do it.

Questions parents ask
Does it download Famly videos too?
Yes, videos are saved alongside the photos, at full quality, filed under the date they were posted.
How do I download ALL photos from the Famly app, not one at a time?
Famly's own download button saves a single photo at a time. NurseryDownloader collects your whole feed and tagged photos and downloads every photo and video in one run.
I have more than one child, do I do them separately?
No. It finds every child on your account and saves each into their own folder in one run.
Does it save the captions?
Feed downloads include a spreadsheet (photo-captions.csv) listing the date and caption for every post, so nothing loses its context.
Can I download photos from the Famly app on my phone?
No. Chrome extensions only run on a computer. Use Chrome or Edge on a laptop or desktop.
We're about to leave, will I lose the photos?
Once your child leaves, your account is usually downgraded: you keep your child's profile and tagged photos, but the newsfeed and messages go. The nursery isn't keeping a copy for you either, so save them all while you still have full access.
Is it safe?
Yes. Your photos go straight from Famly to your computer and never pass through our servers, so we never see them. And it never asks for your Famly password: it works in your own browser, where you're already signed in.
