How to Download All Your Xplor Home Photos & Videos

Save every photo and video from Xplor Home in one click, straight to your computer, sorted by child and month.

To download all your Xplor Home photos and videos at once, install the free NurseryDownloader Chrome extension, sign in to Xplor Home on the web at home.myxplor.com and click Download all photos & videos in the panel that appears. Every photo and video saves into dated folders, one for each child, apart from videos Xplor only streams (more on those below).

If your child's centre uses Xplor, the photos and videos it shares appear in Xplor Home. Saving them one by one is slow, and right-clicking each image is no way to keep a few years of memories.

NurseryDownloader is a Chrome extension that saves every photo and video from Xplor Home in one click, sorted into folders for each child. Here's how.

Download every Xplor photo in one click

Step 1: Install the extension

  1. Open Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a laptop or desktop (the extension doesn't run on phones or tablets).
  2. Add NurseryDownloader from the Chrome Web Store.
  3. Click Add to Chrome, then Add extension.

Step 2: Sign in to Xplor Home on the web

  1. Go to home.myxplor.com and sign in with the same details you use in the Xplor Home app.
  2. The NurseryDownloader panel appears in the top-right corner of the page.

Step 3: Click download

  1. Click Download all photos & videos in the panel. It covers every child on your account in one run.
  2. Keep the tab open while it works. You'll see progress, and you can cancel at any time.
  3. Everything lands in your Downloads folder, in a folder for each child, organised month by month, with the date at the start of each filename.

What you get

  • Photos and videos from your child's moments, saved as files you keep.
  • Only your children. The extension never touches photos of other children at the centre.
  • One folder per child, then a folder for each month.
  • Nothing twice. Run it again later and it only fetches what's new.

About streamed videos

Xplor plays some videos as a stream rather than storing them as a single file. A stream can't be saved as a video you keep, so the extension skips those rather than saving a broken file, and tells you how many it skipped when it finishes.

Handy options

Open Advanced in the panel to choose a date range, or to save everything into one flat folder instead of a folder per child and month.

The free trial saves your first 20 photos with no card and no sign-up, so you can see the results before you buy.

Questions parents ask

Does this work with the Xplor Home app?

It works with Xplor Home on the web at home.myxplor.com, on a computer. It's the same account you use in the Xplor Home app on your phone, so sign in with the same details.

Does it download Xplor videos?

Yes, videos are saved alongside the photos. Some videos are streamed by Xplor rather than stored as a file, and those can't be saved. When the download finishes, the extension tells you how many there were, so nothing goes missing without you knowing.

Will it download other children's photos?

No. Xplor knows every child at your centre, but the extension only ever saves photos of the children on your own account.

Isn't there an archive option in the Xplor app?

The Xplor Home app can email you a learning gallery archive of the media your child has been tagged in, which can take a few hours to arrive. NurseryDownloader saves the photos and videos directly to your computer in one run, organised by child and month.

I have more than one child. Do I do them separately?

No. It finds every child on your account, including children at more than one centre, and saves each into their own folder.

If I run it again, will I get duplicates?

No. It remembers what it has already saved, so a second run only downloads what's new.

Is it safe?

Everything happens in your own browser, using the Xplor login you're already signed in with. Your photos are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
