How to Download Xplor Videos
Xplor Home shares videos alongside photos. Here's how to save them to your computer, and why a few can't be saved at all.
If your child's centre uses Xplor, the moments in Xplor Home include videos as well as photos. Saving them one at a time is slow, and on the web there's no button to save them all.
Save your Xplor videos (and photos) at once
NurseryDownloader is a Chrome extension that saves videos and photos from Xplor Home in one click.
- Install it on a laptop or desktop from the Chrome Web Store. It works in Chrome or Edge, not on phones or tablets.
- Sign in to Xplor Home on the web at home.myxplor.com, with the same details you use in the app.
- Click Download all photos & videos in the panel. Everything saves into a folder for each child, month by month, with the date at the start of each filename.
The videos that can't be saved
Xplor plays some videos as a stream rather than storing them as a single file. A stream isn't something you can keep as a video file, so the extension skips those rather than saving a broken file in their place. When it finishes, it tells you how many it skipped, so you always know what you have.
Everything Xplor stores as a normal video file is saved alongside the photos.
Good to know
- Only your own children. It never saves photos or videos of other children at the centre.
- Every child on your account, each in their own folder.
- Nothing twice. Run it again later and it only fetches what's new.
- Everything stays on your computer. Nothing is uploaded to us.
